Sunflower Occupation 2014
Plot Synopsis
In March 2014, students stormed the Legislative Yuan of Taiwan to protest the Kuomintang's attempt to unilaterally adopt the Cross-Strait Service Trade Agreement, leading to a weeks-long stand-off that grew contentious and even violent. The Sunflower Student Movement is chronicled in this vivid and stirring documentary, assembled from on-the-ground footage shot on location as well as recollections from involved policemen, legislators and protesters, who discovered first-hand the price they must pay to defend their democracy.
